I had a phase in my life where all I wore was black. It was my thing, colours were for the unfashionable and fashion goddess that I fully intended to be, I was definitely going to fit in at Conde Nast with all the black I wore. I started this black wearing in Enugu, took it through my life in Lagos, and brought it all the way to Canada where it further intensified. Then at some point last year (or was it the year prior?), I can’t quite remember, my world exploded with colours. I started listening to the nagging voice that pulled me towards colours – a voice I’d told to shut up and suck it up, many many times. I stopped telling it to shut up, started listening and it turns out I love colour! In utter disbelief I watched myself as I fell in love with pink, yellow, orange, lavender, peach, yellow and more yellow. I have so much yellow right now in my wardrobe it’s ridiculous! It’s also okay. Who I am becoming is okay. I neither want to nor do I need to fit in a mold anymore. I am allowing myself to discover and love who I truly am and it’s so beautiful to watch. I’ve never known so much peace.
I hope you find the strength to be you. You will be loved, I promise. ♥️
Hello fellow caffeine lovers! I’ve decided that putting up a blog post every day of the week is a little ambitious. Not to mention that it discounts the fact that I have a real life, that (unfortunately) demands most of my attention. In line with this epiphany, here’s a midweek style recap of all the things I wore since the last time I posted. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen some – if not most, of these looks. If you don’t, well you should. I’m awesome. Click here to remedy that travesty. I’d love to follow you too.
Wore this ensemble to a basketball game on Friday. The tee and pants are old faves from Old Navy. Ripped the tee myself.

I’ll post on Wednesdays and Saturdays henceforth, most likely at 10am in what ever I timezone I’m in. I think that makes sense. See you Saturday! xx
Sometime ago, I acquired a habit of distressing my own denim. I got this pair of boyfriend jeans from Topshop, loved them. I wore them as they were for a bit then one random evening, I came at them with a pair of scissors and fell in love even more! They have followed me everywhere – New York, Toronto, Lagos, Abuja, Enugu; I love them and I never travel anywhere without them. Sometimes I dress them up, but more often than not, I layer them over boxer briefs (sans belt), throw on a casual tee or tank and voila! Instant chic.

This last one is candid, my photographer really does magic with the lens. Major shout out to him! Xx.
I woke up in a lousy mood today, actually that’s not true. I woke up in a great mood, until the realization that I had forgotten to do something very important yesterday dawned on me and effectively ruined my whole morning. I pouted about it until a few minutes ago when I was shaken out of my sulk by a very imposing , very tall person in this house. In his words:
“Just handle it. When something bad happens, there’s no need to dwell on it. Act. Handle it.”
He also said something along the lines of “Enough talking, start doing” when I insisted on listing all the reasons why I deserved to just sit here and pout (it’s a really cute pout, you should see it) and not put up a blog post. So, I stomped into the kitchen, made some ice coffee, liberally buttered some bread and wrote a blog post. I’m so glad he refused to listen. I’m also very glad he took these pictures.
